Tenryuji Temple

A fourteenth century buddhist temple, Tenryuji temple is located in the northwestern Kyoto district of Arashiyama. The temple has a main hall, some side halls (all wooden structures) and a garden. The garden, which is perhaps the most popular tourist attraction in this temple complex, includes a beautiful pond called Sogen pond. The Sogen pond is home to live fishes which can be seen through its clear waters. The entire temple is surrounded by the Arashiyama mountains. Price: ₹300 (500 yen japanese) and ₹60 (100 yen) extra to enter main temple hall

How to get there: Take the JR Sagano line from Kyoto station to Saga Arashiyama station, and then walk 10 minutes. Temple is west from station and north of the Togetsukyo bridge.

Language: Japanese speaking mostly, ticket person may speak broken English

Also Visit: Arashiyama Bamboo Grove and Togetsukyo Bridge, both are within walking distance
